Nagyszekeres Reformed Church, the most beautiful memory of the Gothic
The settlement is well known from the late 12th century, having royal servants and chariot men as inhabitants. The medieval church, largely preserving his medieval form, is the most beautiful Gothic church in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, surrounding a little stream, which indicates the protective role of the church. The sanctuary is originally covered by groined vault, who’s found elements acted as a sample for the reconstruction of the former vault. This reconstruction activity belongs to the most spectacular results of the Hungrian historic preservation. The western side of the church is protected by a wooden bell-tower built in the late 18th century. The ornate church pulpit is very fascinating, from 1773. Additional wooden elements could have made at the end of 18th the century.
